About ISCA and The Singapore CA Qualification

Singapore's National Chartered Accountant Qualification

The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) is Singapore’s national accountancy body. Established in 1963, ISCA administers the Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualification (SCAQ) and is the designated entity that confers the Chartered Accountant of Singapore [CA (Singapore)] designation.

 

The SCAQ is Singapore’s national professional accountancy qualification. It is designed to develop technically competent and forward-looking accountancy professionals and business leaders, combining internationally recognised professional standards with an Asian perspective.

 

The qualification was developed by the Singapore Accountancy Commission in 2013. Following the merger of the Singapore Accountancy Commission, the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) and the Accounting Standards Council in April 2023, ACRA is responsible for the growth and development of Singapore’s accountancy sector, including the SCAQ. 

 

The SCAQ is internationally recognised through Reciprocal Membership Agreements with leading Chartered Accountant professional bodies in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Scotland and the United Kingdom. Candidates who complete the SCAQ and fulfil the applicable membership requirements may apply for full ISCA membership and be conferred the CA (Singapore) designation.
